about
This song was the last song I wrote on this album. In fact, I had long decided the album would be called What Birds Dream and the artwork was already produced before I even wrote the first words of this song.
I had just finished writing Prayer 743 and decided to build on that melody with this as a sort of response to that song. It's not altogether obvious, but this song and the track following (Take a Breath) are meant to be played in flow, like a single song.
lyrics
Don’t start giving up now
Your heart is not that broken
One part still beats inside you
I’m not saying I know
Just what it’s like for you
But a lot of life is getting through
Take a good look at the
Birds they don’t get worried
All day flying in the trees
When I dream of flying
I try to imagine
What I might learn from what birds dream
